Being on a severely limited disability income and faced with a hefty rent increase weekly I must of necessity seek out a cheaper telephone land line/internet service. I presently have Verizon land line telephone and DSL IE internet service. My requirements are a reasonably fast DSL speed and telephone with caller ID and voice mail provisions. Verizon is brutally expensive even with their combo packages ($93 monthly for my present service package) and the additional State/Federal/usage charges are ridiculous, totaling $14+ monthly. Can anyone suggest an alternate telephone/internet service provider with more reasonable rates? Would it be very difficult to transfer over services to the new provider? Please note that the only reason that I use Verizon is that they are the ones that provide telephone installations in the Fall River Massachusetts area.
