I installed the latest security software my computer. So I decided to uninstall Norton and Symantec files from list of programs. Right after I did this, my DSL connection through the modem has limited connectivity. I am unable to get connection to Internet. I contacted my service provider; they checked my modem and pronounced it defective. The replacement modem was also defective, and the last replacement modem was junk: it wouldn't power up at all I explained uninstallation of Norton and Symantic to the tech support, and although they are shipping another modem, he thinks uninstalling Norton has cut off communication between my computer and the modem. He advised me to call them. What do you think is wrong? -- Are all of Verizon's modems defective? -- Is the problem associated with uninstalling Norton? -- How else can I diagnose? I have diagnosed my modem; it says this device is working but with limited connectivity. -- Is there a problem between Windows Vista and uninstalling Norton? Please tell me what your serious answers. I uninstalled Norton through programs installed on my computer where it allows one to uninstall any program. So I did Norton & Symantec, and deleted all respective files from Window's Common File.
